How do you configure Cisco Meraki for Easy Smart WiFi?

Cisco Meraki connects to Easy Smart WiFi through an open guest SSID that uses Sign-on with my RADIUS server, a walled garden whitelist, two RADIUS authentication servers on port 1812, two RADIUS accounting servers on port 1813, and custom splash URLs under Wireless > Splash Page. Easy Smart WiFi is guest WiFi marketing software that captures opted-in emails and phone numbers on a branded splash page after RADIUS sign-on completes. Meraki may require a support case to enable RADIUS Accounting before accounting servers can be saved.

What you configure

SSID security (Open), splash mode (RADIUS sign-on), walled garden ranges, dual RADIUS auth and accounting servers, and custom splash URLs in the Meraki Dashboard.

What Easy Smart WiFi provides

RADIUS hostnames, shared secrets, splash URLs, and the full walled-garden whitelist for your deployment. Starting at $50 per month per location with a 30-day free trial.

Cisco Meraki configuration FAQ

What security mode should a Meraki guest SSID use for Easy Smart WiFi?

Set Security to Open (no encryption) and Splash Page to Sign-on with my RADIUS server. Easy Smart WiFi handles guest authentication through the captive portal and RADIUS servers you configure in Meraki.

Why should apostrophes be avoided in a Meraki guest SSID name?

Apostrophes in the SSID name can cause authentication issues with RADIUS sign-on. Use a plain name such as Guest WiFi instead.

What goes in the Meraki walled garden for Easy Smart WiFi?

Enable Walled Garden and add the whitelist ranges required for sign-on products to load before authentication completes. One example is *.smartwifiplatform.com. Easy Smart WiFi provides the full list for your deployment.

What if RADIUS Accounting is missing in the Meraki dashboard?

Open a case with Meraki support and request: Please enable RADIUS Accounting for this network. Accounting on port 1813 is required before guest sessions can finish on Easy Smart WiFi.

How many RADIUS servers does Meraki need for Easy Smart WiFi?

Add two RADIUS authentication servers on port 1812 and two RADIUS accounting servers on port 1813. Easy Smart WiFi provides the hostnames and shared secrets for each entry.

Where are Meraki splash URLs configured for Easy Smart WiFi?

After saving Access Control, open Wireless > Splash Page, select the same SSID, enable Custom Splash URL, and enable Splash Behavior A Different URL. Easy Smart WiFi provides both URLs during onboarding.
